The present open issue aims at bringing together the works of varied disciplines ranging from literature, film, cultural history, translation studies, language history, and applied linguistics. The intention is to illustrate a variety rather than a homogenous grouping of articles centred around one particular theme. This way everyone can find a topic that may interest them.
