As the world undergoes rapid changes, linguistic and cultural encounters are becoming increasingly common. The concept of the “melting pot” is fading, giving way to multicultural societies that are swiftly becoming the norm, leaving Europe somewhat unprepared. The English-speaking world is also evolving, challenging the traditional Eurocentric view. There is an urgent need to reassess this context and obtain accurate information about other cultures. This paper examines three multicultural countries—India, Nigeria, and South Africa—as significant players in the English-speaking world and seeks to gather empirical data on what Hungarian and Albanian learners of English know about these countries. The findings suggest that educators should broaden their focus to include these emerging English-speaking countries in their curricula, alongside the more traditionally recognized ones.
